    Common questions

Are the cabins actually in Sherwood Forest?

They are in the Sherwood Forest area of north Nottinghamshire, on a farm at Bilsthorpe — not inside the forest park itself. Woodland is about 5 minutes' walk from the site. The Sherwood Forest visitor centre and the Major Oak are 6.4 miles away, roughly 16 minutes by road.

Can you walk into the woods from the cabins?

Yes. Woodland is roughly a 5-minute walk from the site, so you can be among trees without driving. The Sherwood Pines visitor centre is a longer walk — about 40 minutes — or 7.6 miles by road.

What kind of cabins are they?

Two self-catering properties, booked separately. Wrangler's Den is a cedar log cabin sleeping up to 4, with a log burner. The Shepherd's Hut is a shepherd's hut sleeping 2.

    Is there a minimum stay?

Two nights at both cabins. Cleaning is included in the price.

    Can I bring a dog?

No. Pets are not permitted, because of the farm animals and the wildlife around the property. We are happy to recommend good kennels nearby — just ask when you book.

If you are coming for the trails rather than the forest generally, the Sherwood Pines page has the off-road route and the trail grades. For a wedding at the farm, see wedding accommodation.
