    The cabins

    Questions riders ask

How far is Inkersall Cabins from Sherwood Pines?

The Sherwood Pines visitor centre is 7.6 miles by road, about 14 minutes. But you do not have to go that way: from the cabins you can get off-road onto the trail network in about 5 minutes, without a car and without passing the visitor centre. The two figures differ because the lane takes the long way round — the car park is roughly 2.4 miles straight-line.

Can you cycle to the trails from the cabins?

Yes. The off-road route joins the trail network directly rather than routing via the visitor centre, which is what makes it about 5 minutes rather than a drive. On foot, woodland is roughly the same 5 minutes away; the visitor centre itself is a 40-minute walk.

Is there bike storage at the cabins?

There is no dedicated bike store. If you are bringing your own bikes and want to know where they can go overnight, ask when you book.

    Can you hire bikes?

Sherwood Forest Cycles runs the hire and repair shop at the Sherwood Pines visitor centre, so you do not need to bring a bike. Parking is on site there if you prefer to drive over.

How long does it take to cycle to Go Ape?

Go Ape sits inside Sherwood Pines Forest Park. Cycling the trails through the woods takes about 30 minutes — longer than the 5 minutes to reach the trail network, because it is further into the park.

    Which trails are there?

Skills Loop (Practice area) — a first visit, or riding with someone newer to mountain biking. Robin Hood (Blue) — the main cross-country route — forest singletrack and wider fire road. Outlaw (Red) — tighter singletrack, more climbing, and features that reward committed riding. Maid Marion (Family) — shorter and gentler — riding with children, or a relaxed last loop.

Where can I stay, and what does it cost?

Two cabins on Inkersall Grange Farm: Wrangler's Den, sleeping 4, from £185 a night; Shepherd's Hut, sleeping 2, from £140 a night. There is a 2-night minimum at both, cleaning is included, and booking is direct with no platform fees.
