“We stayed with Caroline the night before and after my wedding. The location is perfect, just a stones throw from our venue. It was perfect for this but it equally would have been the most idilic spot for a quiet few days away from the hustle and bustle of life. The cabin was perfectly clean and tidy while still feeling welcoming and homely. Great instructions on how the use the facilities such as the log burner. Small but perfectly equipped kitchen, in keeping with the cabin. Beautiful location with wonderful views and surrounding, the most peaceful place for a morning cup of tea. Would recommended in a heart beat and would love to return. Great value for money and could not pick fault. Thank you for having us!”

“We booked this cabin for 2 nights as we were getting married at the venue on site so location couldn't have been better. There were no check-in instructions provided so we had to ask our Wedding Venue for details for how to access the key lock. On arrival, basic amenities were there but for the price we would have expected shower gel/body wash to be provided along with a small amount of milk for a cup of tea.”

“Shepherds Hut is lovely, compact but a very usable space, didn’t feel cramped at all. Very clean, one or two cobwebs but it is in the countryside. Shower lovely and hot. Bedding clean and fresh, towels provided one had a bleach mark but was clean. Outside seating area perfect with a lovely view and very quiet. Site very well kept and pretty was perfect to stay over for our family wedding in the tipis.”

“We stayed one night for a wedding at the same location. Accommodation was great, cosy and private. I can’t comment on any local places if interest but it’s on the edge of Sherwood Forest so I’m sure there’s loads to see and do if the length of your stay is longer than ours.”

“Immaculate, fresh, well decorated cosy hideaway. With only two cows and two sheep for neighbours, it’s a perfect place to escape from the world. Had a lovely peaceful woodland walk to the pub and then back to enjoy home cooking in the well equipped, spotless kitchen. We ended the evening enjoying the views with a bottle of wine beside the fire pit. Would highly recommended a stay at the shepherds hut.”

“A truly wonderful spot! There is a function/wedding venue there and we had a wedding happening on one of the nights we stayed and we couldnt hear a thing. Tucked away nicely enough to feel completely on your own. Has a shower, a small tv with hdmi so could take a firestick with you but no wifi which was absolutely fine for us as we wanted a weekend away from all that anyway so maybe hotspot a firsstick should that suit your needs. There is a track that leads to sherwood pines, to far to walk in my opinion but we had bikes, still quite long to cycle through but if your hunting a tough day to endure on the bikes the track though is a excellent edition to your day out on the sherwood trails. We drove the second day before coming home though. Caroline was a true tressure of a hoast who gave us the grand tour of their lovely venue and plenty of local knowledge to guide us on our days out on the bikes, very friendly and welcoming! Her hut has it all so just bring food n extra firewood”

“Beautiful, idealistic location to spend a few nights after our wedding at the opposing venue. My partner and his brother decided a few days prior, that they would prefer to get their suits on at the venue, and also our initial check in time was around the time our ceremony was, so I asked if we could move the check in forward and they were extremely flexible with this and the cabin was ready for around 1pm. It's a cute lodge, had a really relaxing stay. Had our gorgeous wedding photographs taken in front of it too and had so many compliments on how gorgeous it looked! Would highly recommend.”

The most beautiful peaceful deck looking out over the meadows. Handy having the key in a lock box so people could pop in and out as needed. Perfect place to wake up after our wedding - both right at the heart of the venue and also completely secluded. We loved the log burner and cosy blankets! Lovely Prosecco and card from Caroline and the IGF team left in the room too.”

“A beautiful little space. Spent a couple of nights there for our wedding in the nearby teepee. The log burner makes the whole cabin lovely and toasty and WiFi was available much to the relief of our child. A very peaceful area, with some lovely wildlife spotting potential including a very amusing crow who seems to be a regular visitor. Definitely would recommend if you're getting married nearby or looking for a secluded getaway.”

“My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Wrangler's Den. Beautiful setting, tranquil surroundings and very much off the beaten track, yet very easy to reach the main attractions in the area by car. The lodge was lovely and very much made us feel like we had escaped a busy city. Wonderful log burner, comfortable beds, clean bathroom and well equipped kitchen. The hosts also provided us with some great recommendations in the local area which we enjoyed during our stay. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling to this area of the country.”

“Fantastic space which is peaceful and tranquil. Touches such as loo roll, cooking oil and washing up liquid make the stay seamless as these are things we usually forget to take when self catering. Large fridge freezer gives plenty of space for food and drinks. Plenty enough space for 4 people, beds were immaculate and comfy, bathroom was sparkling clean and towels also great quality. The deck and outside meadow/garden was wonderful to sit out on. There was also some games, books and a small map of the area which could be used to plan some walks. We made friends with a little cat who greeted us and laid out on the grass with us. She was cute. We loved it.”

“I am a huge fan of this cabin. It's a good size, clean and stylish and the beds are super comfortable. It has everything you need for a very lovely stay and the views of Sherwood Forest are outstanding. We even saw deer and a fox right outside the cabin! The location is really peaceful but still close enough to local attractions and major roads. Check in was easy and our hosts were responsive throughout our stay. “Caroline & Charlie's cabin is gorgeous - perfect escape for a winter weekend, close to Rufford Abbey, some lovely pubs and cafes to let you have a gorgeous get away. The cabin gives you the opportunity to really unwind with the gorgeous stove fire. Breakfast was also provided which was a great added touch and their daughter was really helpful and friendly upon arrival. All in all was a great trip and I'm sure I'll be coming back!”

“An oasis within a working farm. Drive down a country lane through the farm and you are met by fairy lights leading to the most stunning and immaculate log cabin. Breakfast and a delicious homemade cake were waiting for us as was the roaring wood burning fire, and the hosts could not have been more helpful when we needed anything. They also have the friendliest cat who paid us a visit and a little puppy which Charlie brought round to say hi! It's only a 15 min drive from the Sherwood Forest and nearby town but I would say a car is definitely needed for your stay. We will 100% be back!”

“We had an amazing stay at Wrangler's Den for a relaxing night and a couple of days cycling. Such a cosy cabin in a beautiful and secluded part of the countryside that overlooks the tall pines of Sherwood Forest. As described the accommodation feels just like an authentic mountain cabin which took us right back to our trip to Canada earlier in the year. The double bed was large and extremely soft and everything was cleanly provided including a fantastic log burner and items for a hearty breakie in the morning. Access to Sherwood Pines park could not have been more convenient with it being so close. Highly recommended and we will definitely look to stay again!! Thanks so much :)”
