Romantic cabin breaks in Sherwood Forest
Two secluded self-catering cabins for two at Inkersall Grange Farm in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire — fields around them, woodland a 5-minute walk away, and no one else on site but the other cabin.
Which one suits a couple

Wrangler's Den
Sleeps 4
From £185 a night, 2-night minimum

A two-night break, roughly
Arrive from 16:00. Woodland is about 5 minutes on foot, which is enough for a walk before dark. The Lion, Farnsfield is the nearest pub serving food, 3.9 miles and about 8 minutes away. The next day, Rufford Abbey Country Park is 4.5 miles (10 min) for flat, well-surfaced paths around the ruins and lake, or Southwell is 8.8 miles (18 min) for the Minster and somewhere to eat. Check out by 11:00.
Common questions
Which cabin is better for a couple?
Either works, and they suit different things. The Shepherd's Hut sleeps 2 and is the more distinctive building — a hut on iron wheels with a curved roof. Wrangler's Den is a cedar log cabin with a log burner and more room; it sleeps up to 4, so a couple has space to spread out.
Is there a hot tub?
No — there is no hot tub at either cabin. It is the one absence worth stating plainly, because couples often look for one and we would rather you knew before booking than after.
Is it secluded?
The cabins sit on a working farm, a one-minute walk apart, with fields around them and woodland about 5 minutes' walk away. They are private and quiet, and they are powered by solar. They are not off-grid, and we do not describe them as luxury — cosy is the honest word.
Can we book just one night?
No. Both are short-break accommodation with a 2-night minimum, so single nights are not available. Cleaning is included in the price. Check-in is from 16:00 and check-out is by 11:00.
Where can we eat nearby?
The Lion, Farnsfield is the nearest pub serving food — 3.9 miles, about 8 minutes. The cabins are self-catering, and the nearest shop is the Co-op at Bilsthorpe, 2.6 miles away.
